Piotr Wawrzeniuk is an advocate admitted to practice in Poland and a senior associate in the corporate department of Rymarz Zdort.
He graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw in 2013. During his studies, he twice received a rector’s scholarship, which is a scholarship awarded to the best students. He qualified as an advocate in 2017. Prior to joining Rymarz Zdort, formerly known as Weil, Gotshal & Manges – Pawel Rymarz sp.k., in 2022, he worked for financial institutions operating in the insurance and banking sectors for over ten years.
A specialist in corporate, civil and insurance law, he has advised insurance companies on large claims raised on the basis of third-party liability insurance policies, in particular directors’ and officers’ liability insurance. He has experience in providing legal advice on regulatory and operational matters related to the functioning of financial institutions, and also has in-depth expertise in third-party liability claims. Piotr has also advised on the civil and criminal liability of members of management and supervisory boards, in particular in connection with claims filed by companies in relation to the alleged wrongdoings of company executives, claims filed by shareholders for share price declines, liability for late bankruptcy filings and recourse claims for fines incurred by companies.
The scope of his advisory services additionally includes representing financial institutions before courts in litigation proceedings, and proceedings before the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) and the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).
