Dr Barbara Skardzińska is an advocate, a senior associate in the corporate department of Rymarz Zdort.
In 2018, the University of Warsaw granted her the very first Ph.D. in space law ever awarded in Poland (summa cum laude). She also graduated, with distinction, from the Faculty of Law and Administration and from the Faculty of Environmental Protection of the University of Warsaw. In addition, she is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics, where she specialised in international economic relations. She has completed post-graduate studies in mergers and acquisitions at the Warsaw School of Economics and a course in US law at the Center for American Law Studies co-organised by the University of Warsaw and the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She has studied or conducted research in over twenty scientific centres all over the world, including, among others, at the University of Florida Levin College of Law in the US and at Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. She has received several scholarships and awards for her scientific work. In 2019, she was the winner in the special awards category of the ranking “Rising Stars Lawyers – the leaders of tomorrow” published by leading Polish daily, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
A specialist in corporate and financial law, Barbara has advised clients on M&A transactions, bond issuances, financing transactions, and regulatory issues. She has also advised various clients on environmental law matters. Prior to joining Rymarz Zdort, formerly known as Weil, Gotshal & Manges – Paweł Rymarz sp.k., in 2015, she worked in international law firms in Warsaw and as an in-house lawyer in Polish and international companies from the new technologies sector.
